Any journey in life tends to be a roller coaster filled with ups and downs. My journey in Chaotic Wrestling has been no different. There have been extreme highs and extremely frustrating lows. Fortunately, I now find myself at a high point with more momentum and motivation than ever with big things on the horizon.
Things came easy for me when I started here. So easy in fact, that I went two years in this company without being defeated in route to becoming the first ever undefeated Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight champion. All the while I carried the wrong attitude. I had people pulling strings for me and helping me get there. I didn’t feel that I needed to earn anything. Rather, I expected things to come to me. That all came crashing down when my body crashed awkwardly to the canvas snapping my ankle. Gone was the title, gone was the pride.
Six months later I returned with my sights set firmly on the Heavyweight Championship thinking things would come as easily as before. I was wrong and quickly suffered my first defeat. I ended up winning the championship back but quickly ended up on the wrong side of the birth of “Shurmania” losing the belt to Mark Shurman within a minute of winning it.
I realized then that the way I was going about this thing needed to change. I dumped the people that had been pulling strings for me all along and went off on my own with my sights set on earning championships. It hasn’t been easy. In fact, I’ve yet to have a chance to earn back that top prize in the company. Until I do, I will always feel that I have unfinished business in Chaotic.
What I have done is EARNED the New England Championship by beating three other people at Cold Fury 14. Having gold back around my waist after so much time sure feels right. I’m not happy just to be the New England Champion. Instead, I have monumental goals for this title. I am going to elevate the prestige of this belt to levels it has never seen. Why can’t this belt be just as prestigious as the Chaotic Heavyweight Championship?
On May 8th, Brian Fury plays right into my plan. Like me, he is a former multi time Heavyweight Champion. Similar to my past indiscretions, he now has people watching his back helping him get back there. In fact he has the right to cash in for a shot at that belt whenever he wants. Interestingly, Brian Fury has decided to come after my New England Championship first. Rumor has it that his master plan is to win both belts in Lowell. My master plan is to stop that dead in its tracks! Brian Fury is exactly the type of competition that I need to emerge victorious over in order to elevate the New England Championship. If he makes the same mistakes that I have in the past and thinks that his plans are going to come together easily, he is in for a rude awakening. My momentum and the momentum of the New England Championship will be at an all-time high after all is said and done Friday night in Lowell.
