Have you ever heard the phrase, “Say it ain’t so” and after hearing the news, hoped, wished, and prayed that it “wasn’t so?” Believe us, this is one of those moments.
After making Chaotic Wrestling his home since the inception of his career, former CW Tag Team & Heavyweight Champion Donovan Dijak will make his final – yes, FINAL – appearance with the Chaos as part of Rhodes of Gold on Friday, August 4 in Danvers, MA.
Not just as a fan base, but as a company itself, we’ve watched the true evolution of one of the industry’s next breakout stars. August 4, 2013 – nearly four years ago – Dijak stepped on Chaotic’s stage for the very first time when he made his Chaotic debut at The Polish-American Veterans Club in Lowell, MA. The match in itself only lasted all of 137 seconds, but it begun the mold of a very promising career, squaring off against nearly every recent mainstay in company history, including “The Firebrand” Brian Fury, “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas, Chase Del Monte, War Beard Hanson and others.
The 6’7″ leader of The Big Man Brotherhood is no stranger to championships in Chaotic, where he ended 2016 as co-holder of the Tag Team Championship (with Mikey Webb as part of The American Destroyers), and just 15 months after his arrival, defeated “The Sure Thing” Mark Shurman in dominating fashion to achieve Chaotic’s pinnacle, the Heavyweight Championship – making it the final time that the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship would change hands in Lowell’s P.A.V. before the building closed it’s doors.
His brute force, unreal athleticism, powerhouse style, and take-no-prisoners, risk-taking style make the Tyngsboro, MA native a coveted, hot commodity, not just in New England, but more recently, worldwide, making several trips to the United Kingdom and appearances in Evolve Wrestling & Ring Of Honor, however, has always made Chaotic Wrestling his true home.
As we move to “Rhodes of Gold”, Donovan Dijak was originally scheduled to face newcomer, Killanova, Inc.‘s (possibly, maybe) Josh Briggs – however, thanks to the dissention between Briggs, Tripilicious and current New England Champion Christian Casanova on Friday, July 14 in Woburn, MA, General Manager Johnny Vegas has officially (Sorry, Tripilicious – you can’t make the matches) made a Triple Threat Match for Casanova’s New England Championship against both Donovan Dijak & Josh Briggs!
Can Christian Casanova maintain his grip on the New England Championship? Will Josh Briggs choose the loyalty of Killanova, Inc. over a conveted championship opportunity? Will Donovan Dijak in his final appearance with the company achieve what a “Legit Boss” did nearly five years earlier – leave as champion?
Find out at “Rhodes of Gold”, Friday, August 4 in Danvers, MA as we say goodbye and “feast our eyes” to Donovan Dijak – for the last time.
